Lightening up

It’s that time of year where it’s important to give yourself some grace, and cut yourself (and the kids) a bit of slack. With a little over 10 days before the holiday break, it’s easy to feel the pressure of getting it all done.
Do yourself a favour and focus on staying happy and sane at this point in the year. Laugh where you can, lighten up your load if the opportunity presents itself, and remember that you are only one human.
Stop trying to do everything yourself, ask for help if you need it, and remember that giving someone the opportunity to help you sometimes makes that other person feel good about themselves.
Still feeling guilty? Give that up. If it makes you feel better, make a mental list of those few things you’re going to move to January’s to-do list.
Try to enjoy a few holiday traditions with your students and focus on the positives.
Stay happy.
Stay sane.
We’re in this together.
